For teachers

As teachers, you witness critical and immediate needs of your classrooms on a day-to-day basis.  While AISD’s Innovation and Development team works year-round to secure opportunities for sustainable funding, teachers can apply directly for the financial and material support.   Take a look at the current opportunities available to put your ideas into action:

New Opportunity:  Target mini grants for improving K-3 Literacy are now available to AISD teachers. The project, entitled "Primary Reading Blocks: Accelerated Early Literacy Initiative," funds classroom resources such as magazine and internet subscriptions, phonics and word study tools, and professional development programs relating to literacy for both parents and teachers.  Send an email austinisdinnovation@gmail.com to receive an application.

Have your own project in mind?

For year-round opportunities to fill classroom needs, consider posting your project proposal on DonorsChoose.org, a site that allows individuals interested in helping public schools to donate directly to projects that inspire them.  From "from pencils for a poetry writing unit, to violins for a school recital, to microscope slides for a biology class," DonorsChoose links ordinary people looking to give to the public school classrooms that need their assistance.
